Real Madrid have imposed fines of €500,000 each on Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni following their on-pitch altercation during training on Thursday. The Spanish club conducted a disciplinary investigation into the incident.

According to an official statement on the club’s website, “The players expressed full remorse for what happened and apologized to each other. They also apologized to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans, and both expressed readiness to accept any punishment the club deems appropriate.”
The club decided to fine both players, thereby closing the internal investigation.
Earlier, Spanish outlet Marca reported that the two midfielders had clashed in the dressing room after training, causing Valverde to fall and hit his head, requiring hospital treatment. It was said he received stitches, and the club held an emergency meeting to start a disciplinary process.
However, Valverde later stated that he accidentally hit his head on a table during an argument, suffering a cut and being taken to hospital. He emphasized that Tchouaméni did not strike him and called for the incident not to be exaggerated.
