LeBron James has not officially announced his retirement yet, but after the Lakers’ Game 4 loss to the Thunder, if this truly was his final game, he certainly added another milestone to his legacy before walking off the floor.
This marked James’ 23rd NBA season and his eighth wearing a Lakers uniform. At 41 years old, the “veteran” embarked on his 19th playoff campaign, still shining as an elite superstar—a feat that seems to defy the natural aging process.
Playing 40 minutes in the elimination game, James recorded 24 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block. He shot 8-of-18 from the field, including 2-of-6 from three-point range, and hit 6-of-8 free throws.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, this was James’ 20th career playoff game with at least 20 points and a double-double. With this performance, he tied Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain for the most such games in NBA playoff history, a remarkable achievement shared by two of the game’s greatest.
